My current studio setup
My studio got an upgrade. I am especially proud of the $15 ricketty vintage wooden folding chair. I love it. Everyone else thinks it is funny. I finally gave up on standing and rocking, I actually play better when sitting, and it is easier to deal with all the other stuff while sitting as well. I need a music stand now, I was looking at some at Trade-Up music and was surprised to find that they were actually quite expensive. About 40 bones for one of those black institutional jobbies from music class.

I like your home setup. It looks like mine did a few yaers' ago. I've got an old Tascam 244 4-track analogue tape machine that's been used over and over recording things over the years. Some of it has just been doodles or experiments, but a lot has been quite listenable stuff as well. I haven't had my stuff set up like yours is for years now, unfortunately. I have to drag it all out of their flight cases ect - what a hassle!
Years ago I used to have a Mac Plus (groan!), but I used that as a sequencer for drums etc. I don't have any digital music programming stuff anymore (I no longer use Macs!) except for an old 707 drum machine! That's fun to chug along with, with guitars and bass and vox. I've got a sound module, but no music keyboard to run it anymore - D'oh!
I used to play in rock bands in the mid-80's - early-90's, and I've still got all my gear and rig too. I was always too proud to get myself a music stand, but once I got one, i never looked back! I played lots of boring 'club' gigs reading chord charts - and getting paind a shite load for them too! Ahh, those were the days.
Once I became a dad, my sons became my primary focus. i have never had a problem with that. My eldesay boy has recently turned 11 - and yes, it does just seem like yesterday!
Anyway, I'd love to hear from you sometime, if that's OK with you. I'm a 40-yo Australian bloke - check out my blog profile if u like. Thanks again for your cool blog. Enjoy parenthood - and I hope u manage to get some sleep soon!
